Townville is one of the largely untapped riches of our charter business. Great reef fishing with our shelf Red Emperor a real highlight. With the start of the Great Barrier Reef located just over 30 Nautical miles from the coast makes it a fishing paradise. If that still doesn’t excite you Townsville is the closest city to the Coral sea reefs, such as Flinders reef and Holmes reef.
We also offer a large range of smaller boat charters. Anything from chasing Barramundi up the estuaries to fishing the shoals 15 Nautical miles off Townsville.
Townsville being an international airport it makes it easy to access for fly in and fly out fishing. Townsville is the heart of Northern Conquest Charters and has been established since 2008.
Townsville Reef Fishing
Northern Conquest Charters cater for 12 & 24 trips for those clients on the go and for those who simply need a fishing fix but are constrained by time. We are proud to have options suitable for most budgets.
20% discount on 24 hour trips December and January.
Got the relatives visiting from interstate for Christmas or New Years lunch/dinner? Book yourself (and why not them!) in for a trip just prior so that you can serve up fresh reef fish at the table. Surely there is nothing better than that and you will no doubt earn those brownie points with the mother in law!
These trips are also a great idea for a Christmas gift for those “hard to buy for” family members or for those people who value an epic experience. All 24 hour trips and vouchers purchased in December and January will receive 20% OFF. All purchases valid until 31st December 2016
12 Hour Trips
Whether you fancy fishing the day or the night, these trips can be tailored for either scenario.
Trip times are 6.00am to 6.00pm for the day or 5.00pm to 5.00am for the night time scenarios, and let’s face it, we all know those big red fish bite harder during the low light periods.
We offer some flexibility around arrival and departure times for full boat bookings.
24 Hour Trips
These are our most popular trip option due to the balance of both night and day time fishing.
Normal scheduled departure times are between 4.00pm and 6.00pm and returns occur 24 hours later. For your convenience “Sir Reel” has air conditioned cabins if a rest is required (trust me, you will need a rest after a solid day of pulling red emperor and nannygai from the depths). If you have the stamina, you can most definitely opt to fish all night.
Unlike other operators, we crew our boat so if the fishing goes off the boil, we simply shift spots at any time necessary through the night. This enables maximum opportunity for our clients to capitalize on the exceptional fishing on offer.
The whole boat booking can also be worked on a pro rata system for passenger numbers between the guidelines.
Extended Liveaboard Charter Fishing
Enjoy the best reef fishing and coral sea fishing with species hooked including dog tooth tuna, marlin, spanish mackerel, giant trevally, dolphinfish, wahoo and many more! Need a rest? We can stop by any of the pristine sand cays throughout the reef to give the arms a break during the trip. Snorkel, sunbathe and take in the Great Barrier Reef before getting right back to it!
Stay aboard the comforting ‘Sir Ree’ 58 foot Conquest Vessel in luxury with air conditioning, tv, comfy beds, delicious food and hot showers!

We pride ourselves on delivering the best quality fishing that the reef has to offer.
We think a more relevant question would be what won’t I catch? There is literally a plethora of diversity on offer out there. Commonly we would base our night fishing on targeting iconic Australian sports fish such as coral trout, red emperor and large mouth nannygai. Of course that’s not to say you won’t tangle with a whole host of other species as well. Species such as spangled emperor, cobia, cod, green job fish, mangrove jack (reef jacks) are a common and most welcome by-catch during these dedicated sessions.
Our experienced and helpful deckhands will gut, gill and bag up your fish so your prized catch is ready for you upon return to port.

Just back from a 10 day trip to Flinders Reef, thanks to skipper Tony and crew of Chris and Carl. You guys really looked after us even weather shitty at first and Flinders Reef didn't fire we still caught Doggies, Yellowfin, Wahoo, then all the reef fish.Paul Grebert
We just got off the boat after a 4 day fishing trip and all 10 of us loved it. All the staff were great and could'nt do enough to make you feel comfortable which made our trip thoughly enjoyable. Mick the chef cooked up a storm, and I think ive put on 2kgs in 4 days, hehe. Carl and Bill were sensational deckies and really new their stuff and never stoped working throughout the whole trip. We picked a bad week for the weather unfortunatly, but a big thanks goes out to the skipper (Bob) for always trying to get us on the fish when mother nature was against us. Thanks again, Chris from the Wandering Fisho's 2016.Christopher Rimmer
